February Update!

I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering where this month has gone!! February has felt like a super busy week, but it's been sweet to get back into the swing of things and connect with both students and coworkers. The picture above is the first actual picture we've taken of our team this year! Every one of them has blessed me immensely this year as I've adjusted to motherhood and I can't thank them enough for their flexibility and loving on Luna. Everyone is thinking through their plans for the upcoming year and commitments they want to make or if they are going to transition into a different job. Please be praying for us as we make those decisions and build our team for next year.

I don't think I've ever posted a video to my blog before...so I'm reeeeeeally hoping this works. Our ministry down the street at the UTD campus has a sub-org called BLISS, Black Lives in Soulful Solidarity. For Black History month, they coordinated a "Night of Black Church" for everyone in our community - along with friends and family - to come experience a version of black church in America in honor of Black History Month. I was greatly blessed by the event and honestly left speechless. Our community showed up and showed out to learn and participate in something many of them aren't familiar with. The video above is part of a praise dance one of the FOCUS pastors, Lailah, at UTD and a student performed. Lailah left the professional dance world to work in campus ministry these last few years and put together BLISS and this event. I'm so thankful for her patience with our team as we learn how to create a space more welcoming to different cultures and for her initiative to make things happen!

The video below is four students teaching and leading us a worship song. The student on the left is one of our student leaders at Collin, Laiya, who I have the honor to meet with every week. I just wanted to share these videos with all of you to give you a glimpse into the experience! If they don't work I'm bummed, but know that it was a beautiful night!! I'll include a picture at the bottom.

Thank you for your support and being part of these students' lives through your generosity and prayers! Love you all!

Jacy
