Summer is OVER??
How in the world is it already August?? I am in disbelief...some weeks went by very slow for me as I've had less to do in this season per usual since it's summer. But August 1st kicks off our year and I feel caught off guard! I've really appreciated how much time I have had to rest this summer as I've been rather sleepy for some reason (😜 hehe) and my coworkers have been very helpful and patient with me as my brain has become less sharp. I'm eager to get the semester going though - we've got LOTS to do this month!
Last night, we had a corefa dinner with all of the students that have volunteered to be student leaders this upcoming year! We have spent the summer getting to know these students and praying for discernment over who to ask and we couldn't be more excited for this new team of students. We had a lot of students transfer away this year, so we have been pretty sad to see them go, but the students we have stepping up this year have been awesome and I can tell the students who left helped cultivate an awesome foundation. Above are some snapshots from our evening. We did a cofa reveal and people were so excited to know who they would get to spend weekly time with in leading their peers. I loved getting to spend some casual, quality time with everybody before hitting the ground running once school starts.
Next week, we have our Fall Staff Retreat where our team will get to connect with one another and with all of our incoming apprentices. We have 10 total and 5 will be part of our Collin team! Please be praying for us as we build new relationships and welcome our new teammates.
After that, we have one week before the semester officially begins so we will be tying together any loose ends on planning for the semester and getting prepared for Welcome Week!! Then the school year will be in full swing - I still can't comprehend that we have less than one month until we get there.
Thank you for being supportive and for your prayers for our team this summer and for fundraising! I can't wait to see what this year brings.
With love,
Jacy Garcia
