Exciting News!!

 

Alex and I shared on social media, but I wanted to share with you all here in case you aren't active on those platforms (big respect for you) - we are expecting a baby this October!! We are overjoyed, thankful, and certainly learning a lot in this season of preparation. My contract with FOCUS continues through next year, so my plan for now is to work until my maternity leave, then finish out the year with our students second semester. That return will potentially be part time, but I will keep all of you updated as we figure out what is best for our family and my team.

This month has flown by incredibly quickly! The jump from 6 weeks of school left to 2 feels a bit like whiplash. A few weeks ago we had a family and friends night for our students to invite people close to them to check out one of our Thursday night services. It was very sweet to meet the parents and siblings of the students I've gotten to know throughout the year - it's an honor to know who raised them to be the great students they are! It's hard to see, but one of our student leaders, Gio, shared how the FOCUS community has impacted him these last couple of years. I'm so proud of his vulnerability and willingness to share in front of so many people! We also got to hear from a couple parents who have seen change in their students since they have become involved. That's not by our campus staff or organizations doing at all - it's because we have students that have caught the vision to bring God's kingdom to our campus and have committed to doing just that this year.

Prayer Requests

• As I mentioned, there are only 2 weeks left of the school year. Please pray for our students that they would finish the semester strong between classes and all of their commitments.
• We are taking about 100 students from all of our campuses, 15 from Collin, to a campus ministry conference (SICM) up in Washington in 2 and a half weeks. Please be praying for safe travels, our students who are fundraising, and that we would all learn a lot of great new material about leading on campuses. I'm excited to go with them this year.
• Please pray for Alex and I as we prepare to be parents. A lot of caring for our baby is out of our control right now, so pray that we would be surrendered to the Lord's work.
